Sometimes, thrombocytopenia can affect the implement of the established treatment, which will increase the risk of bleeding in severe cases. Therefore, understanding the mechanism of thrombocytopenia in chronic liver diseases and early intervention are necessary. In the past, thrombocytopenia in chronic liver diseases was considered as the results of hypersplenism. With the discovery of the mechanism of thrombocytopenia and its receptor agonist in recent years, researchers have a new understanding of thrombocytopenia in chronic liver diseases.
